Two deviations in less then a month? Man, I'm on a roll! Well, this has been sitting on my desk for about three months or so and tonight I finally decided that I was going to ink it and color it with pencil crayons. ^.^ Spontaneous art is always my best.
These two are my recreation of the blue dragon and red phoenix that guard the west and south gates. They are considered sacred beasts in Japan and are also known as Seiryu and Suzaku, as well as Byakko the white tiger and Genbu the black tortoise. They are originally of Chinese origins (or so I'm told).
This is *hopefully* going to be my tattoo one day, maybe even this year. I dropped the idea of the tiger and turtle with these two (the black and white would have looked really dull), and am cringing at the idea of how painful this is going to be. Ah, well. Que sera sera.
